Time to Buy Reunion Tickets!!

Hey all,
If you haven't bought your tickets to the party on October 20th, do it soon! On September 21, the cost goes up by $10. If you wait to pay at the door, it's $20 more.

*I* haven't bought my tickets yet! so I'm talkin' to myself...

Also, Dave Dreyfuss will be putting together a digital "wall" of personal photos to put up on a screen as sort of a background as we party. We'll have more info about scanning and specifications and where to send it very soon.

Hi Jim, I opened up the permissions so anyone can post, BUT, have to provide an email address or somehting for communiction (regulations).  That is the way it is on any public site. I am hoping not a deterrent.  I did not pull any ads in on adsense. I am not interested in making money on this blog or causing a lot of spam to the readers and others who post.

Please let me know if there are any problems with posting or spam.  We should be good though. If some other feature  needs to get disabled, send me an email or post. Thanks

An update on how to pay your $5 for the picnic: If you're willing to deal with Paypal, the email address is 72reunionpicnic@gmail.com. You can click on the link to the right of this post (in the sidebar) You will need to log into your Paypal account and email a payment of $5.00 to the email address above (72reunionpicnic@gmail.com). This is the safest way we know how to do this, protects you and us (the reunion committee). Funds received will be post in a spreadsheet and available for view as a Google Doc once you have paid the mere pittance of $5.  We anticipate we will gather enough money to provide paper products and condiments, and perhaps reimburse Sharon and Eric for the reservation fee at Serra Park.
Thank you to Eric and Sharon for funding the reservation in advance on behalf of Class of 72.

The location of our reunion picnic in Sunnyvale - brings back memories, right?

There was actually a lot of thought that went into where the picnic should be held by those of us who really wanted to have a picnic and socialize after the reunion dinner dance on Saturday evening.

Susan Sheehan contacted Fremont High School on our behlf, and the Administration agreed to allow us a picnic at Fremont High on the Sunday following the reunion dinner.. We could have the picnic in the Quad but the cement and heat was a concern for our children & grandchildren, and it was actually cost prohibitive due to the expense of security and janitorial services for clean up after the picnic.  At Serra Park there are trees for shade, lots of places to run around and have fun..and of course, we can have all kinds of refreshing beverages, which I think is a big plus.

So, some of us are working hard on the 40th Reunion dinner dance, and some of us are working hard on the 40th Reunion picnic, but most of all, we really would like everyone to get together and chat, catch up, and enjoy each other's company. You don't have to get super involved, or take on a to-do list unless you want to.

There are also some auxillary activities going on associated with the reunion dinner and the picnic, and I hope those ideas are also posted on this site.  I know David Dreyfuss is working on a slide show project for the reunion, and Heidi Boardman Smothers and Susan Sheehan are coming up with some great "shirt" ideas....please post the deets!

Come as you are! Relax, wear grubbies, have fun talking to old friends.

Bring your family! Spouses, kids, grandkids, parents, nieces/nephews, significant others, everyone is welcome!

Bring something to grill, something yummy to share, and BYO beer, wine, and/or soft drinks.

Ice cold water, plates, napkins, condiments, and eating utensils will be provided.


Location: Serra Park, at the corner of Hollenbeck and The Dalles Avenue, Sunnyvale

Time: 10:30 am to whenever we want to quit

Cost: Only $5 a family to cover paper plates and condiments.
